Hagen-Renaker's "Sleeping Dog" had NO breed attached to it when it was introduced to the line of miniatures!!! However with the confirmation and coloration this could very well represent YOUR "Black Labrador" OR "Hound Dog"!!!
The dark grey clay base has black shading which adds depth to the piece.
Black also details the eyes, nose, and mouth.
A high gloss glaze gives a great shine that is VERY similar to many Black Labs...
The large floppy ears, long lanky legs, and trim body depict an athletic breed that will surely win your heart AND encourage you to go for a walk!
Figurine measures 2 5/8" side to side (on left side, hide leg to front paw extended, next to head on right); 2" from front (nose) to back side (back). It is a fairly flat piece, measuring only 3/4" tall.
This piece is a high gloss fired glaze finish on a Ceramic clay base that was fired to approximately 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
All of the Hagen Renaker miniatures listed on our website are "Fired " finishes; thus making them pieces of "China". Most of the pieces undergo at least two (2), with some having three (3) firings in a Ceramic kiln. Temperatures will vary from 2500 degrees to 1650 degrees, dependent as to a greenware (raw clay) firing, a glaze firing, or an overglaze (lustre, gold, or platinum) firing.
