MOMA SNOWDON is an 11" tall 'off white' Teddy bear, jointed legs, ,arms, and head from the GANZ COTTAGE COLLECTIBLES collection. She is "dressed" with an olive green velvet neck scarf, secured and adorned with an array of interesting buttons (one is even a precious gold colored teddy bear!). On the scraf, a soft ruffle of white lace shows her 'feminine side". She wears black velvet boots, that have a cross stitched detail, accented with black shiny, tiny ball shaped buttons. Her head is topped off with a burgundy velvet, floppy hat, also accented with lace and a gray button. She holds a wooden handled broom. Her hands are kept warm with terra cotta colored mittens.
Mama Snowdon has great personality. The black, round shiny eyes, with the hand stitched nose in a salmon color with a blush of pink on the cheeks says,
PICK ME.
This is a Lorraine Chien, (famed bear artist) designed piece. Her initials appear on the bottom of the left foot (as is customary in the cottage collectibles groupings). Mama Snowden's has the initials on the boot.
Long retired, she was introduced in the Fall 2000 collection.
