This hummingbird measures 4 5/16'' tall, (at tip of right wing), 2 3/4" deep (front to back), and 3" wide (side to side, at widest points, from left wing, to right side of base).
This Hummingbird was a special edition during the fall of 2007 (when Fenton thought they were going to have to close their doors for good, in December of 2007).
Of course, they worked through that financial crisis only temporarily!
They DID STOP their "giftware production" in 2011!
It is beautifully handpainted, with shading of green and lime green on the bird;
accented with a burgundy ring around the neck, and a gold beak.
Gold has been use to add 'glimmer' on the back of the wings.
Small black dots define the eyes.
The base has a floral motif (Fushia like flower pattern) that is in pink, white, and shaded with burgundy.
Touches of yellow 'top' the flowers' stamen.
As with all of the "special editions" of this period,
the bottom has a
handpainted date, 2007, and the signature of the Fenton artist who painted the item.
Our stock was beautifully painted by Talented Fenton factory Artist, D Fredrick (Dane Fredrick).
The "iridized" glass adds a sparkle that brilliantly glows as light passes through the crystal glass.
The soft colors used to create these hummingbirds bespeak tranquility.
A beautiful addition to your fenton glass collection, and/or your hummingbird display.
