"Ruby Stretch" Art Glass is a stunning Red glass that IS stretched, after it has been sprayed with iridizing minerals. It is both shiny and dull on the same piece, making a strong statement with its bold coloration.
The intense glow of Fenton's furnaces is captured forever in the shimmering iridescence and luster inherent in the magic of Ruby Amberina Stretch. First produced in the early 1920s, the glamorous art deco style continues to captivate, and red remains the statement color in home d?cor.
This vase is "hand swung" to create the irregular top edge. It will vary in size from 10" to 12" tall.
The size on this vase varies because of the technique used to create it.
To create a Swung Vase, a special tool called a snap grips the bottom of the newly-pressed vase.
Looking much like a baton twirler, the glassworker swings the snap in an ever-increasing arc, and centrifugal force extends the top of the vase, making it ever taller and taller.
At just the right moment, the motion ceases, and another Fenton Swung Vase has been created.
This is a bottom heavy piece, so you may have an over sized arrangement, that will not topple the vase over!
HURRY COLLECTORS...we have only ONE (1) of these vases left!
