What a CUDDLY little 'CUTIE'!
This
VINTAGE, RETIRED "Baby Cougar" was a mould Hagen-Renaker produced ONLY from Spring 2000 through Fall 2001.
IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT OVER PRODUCED, SO YOU MAY FIND IT HARD TO FIND!
The designer for this piece was Robert McGuinness.
The finish on this piece is a bit unusual...in that it is NOT 'HIGH GLOSS' like so many of the Hagen-Renaker pieces. This is a 'SEMI-GLOSS' to almost a 'Matte' finish.
VERY APPEALING!
The detailing is superb.
The eyes beautifully painted with black pupils, and expertly painted eye lids.
The nose and mouth is cherry pink.
The muzzle is devoid of the caramel color, thus highlighting the natural color of the clay base, cream.
The textured back of the figurine, shows off darker brown, to appear like 'spots' on this "Baby Cougar".
With the left paw raised in motion, this little guy has great movement, showing off the personality of this tiny 'cat'!!!
Measuring at 1 1/8" tall, 1 3/8" deep (front to back), 1 1/8" wide (side to side), this tiny miniature is a fine specimen, with great artistic value.
All of the Hagen Renaker miniatures listed on our website are "Fired " finishes; thus making them pieces of "China". Most of the pieces undergo at least two (2), with some having three (3) firings in a Ceramic kiln.
Temperatures will vary from 2500 degrees to 1650 degrees, dependent as to a greenware (raw clay) firing, a glaze firing, or an overglaze (lustre, gold, or platinum) firing.
Hagen-Renaker, fine Potteries since 1946, still family owned AND; HANDCRAFTED IN AMERICA!
