RETIRED SPECIALTIES "Best Friends", two horses 'grooming' one another.
Standing side by side; one light colored, Palomino (or some might consider a strawberry Roan).
The other is the rich chocolate color of a Dark Bay.
Measuring 3 3/8" tall to top, tip of horses ears, 4 1/2" wide from tail to tail, and 2 3/8" deep, on base.
This fine miniature is nicely detailed with the eyes being very expressive, and white highlights for the stockings accenting on the Dark Bay.
This piece is a high gloss fired glaze finish on a Ceramic clay base that was fired to approximately 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
All of the Hagen Renaker miniatures listed on our website are "Fired" finishes; thus making them pieces of "China". Most of the pieces undergo at least two (2), with some having three (3) firings in a Ceramic kiln. Temperatures will vary from 2500 degrees to 1650 degrees, dependent as to a greenware (raw clay) firing, a glaze firing, or an overglaze (lustre, gold, or platinum) firing.
Hagen-Renaker, fine Potteries since 1946, still family owned AND; HANDCRAFTED IN AMERICA!
